We are two brothers, Richard and Chris Dunnett, we were brought up just up the road from Rectory Farm so we understandably love Hingham and the surroundings. Our mum purchased the farm back in 2006, since then we have slowly been developing and improving the site with the ultimate goal of creating a haven for our guests and the surrounding wildlife that we are so fortunate to share this wonderful place with.
There are many more improvements to come on the site, far too many to mention them all but if you are one of our regular guests you may spot some changes along the way during your visits. This winter has seen a huge milestone being met, with the installation of a new electric supply and hook ups across the site. With some much appreciated help we have also improved the fishing platforms on the front lake, and installed new fences around the lakes to protect them from predation.
Regarding the wildlife on site, we are very passionate about creating a haven for wildlife, we aim to plant at least 10,000 trees/ hedging plants by the end of the decade. We are at just over a thousand so far, there hasn’t been many planted this winter, just a few trees but this is a goal we are sure we can hit and are working to achieve this as soon as possible. Hedgerows are one of the most important habitats we have and are critical to wildlife. With the increasingly stressful lives we lead being amongst nature is, in our opinion, only going to become more important to our own wellbeing.
